My name is Jaap Bakker and I am Application IT Manager at NEDCON. My work lies in the field of application, integration and all things that come with it, such as a piece of project management. I also deal with the daily business of installing and configuring software.
There are a number of large projects running at the moment, one of which is 3D. We are in the process of migrating from AutoCAD to Creo, the new 3D software. My role in this is that I am working on the PDM package, in which we will soon record all the drawings. You can see that NEDCON is growing, and so is IT. The four of us are working hard every day to keep everything in tip-top shape.
What does the department you work in look like?
The IT department now consists of 4 people. Together with Fabian, Steven and our manager Sebastiaan we take care of the IT management at NEDCON. This includes all software, networks, servers, notebooks and desktops. We also manage many applications, support printers/ meeting locations and (mobile) phones. All this also in cooperation with Group-IT / voestalpine and suppliers.
In Pardubice the IT management is done by Vaclav and Radim. Here and there we help and support each other with IT work.
What is the best product NEDCON has developed?
For me, that is the miniload. These are the racks in which the automatic robots drive through and do the order picking for. And of course, the typical color combination of the racks: orange and blue. For me, that's the most beautiful thing.
What is your best memory of your time at NEDCON so far?
My best memory so far is the 2019 Christmas party, super cozy and well organized around NEDCON's Innovation Centre. This was back in the days when we could and were still allowed to have big parties.
What makes NEDCON a good employer?
For me, it's the informal atmosphere, combined with hard work and nice colleagues.
