Design Principles

The Design Principles department is NEDCON’s conscience. In the test center, employees from this department test the limits of steel and components. This is because in practice a lot more can happen than in a mathematical model. The Design Principles team collects data from the test center and evaluates whether they are reliable enough to use when performing calculations on constructions. The team is supported in this task by experts from the Technical University of Dortmund and Büro Dr Möll. This has resulted in the creation of a database with new calculation values for components NEDCON’s engineers use when designing storage systems. Design Principles also carries out quality control for Pardubice, advises management, and makes the case for changes to the European and local construction standards. So that these become more realistic and better suit the safety requirements in today’s warehouses.
