The start of a success story

Two entrepreneurs and friends, Ruud Hollander and Hans Stegweg, founded NEDCON in Deventer in the late 60's. The start of a success story. Hollander’s extensive technical talent and Stegweg’s adventurous and creative mind formed a winning combination. Their collaboration resulted in a renewed approach and innovative products that caught on.

Development of own profiles

Production has started of own upright and beam profiles. This first production line was located at NEDCON's former building in Deventer and was sbusequently moved to Doetinchem. The entire production is now taking place in Pardubice.

NEDCON grows quickly

NEDCON quickly grew to become a renowned player, with customers from far and wide. In order to cope with increasing demand, the company looked for more space. Preferably in the Achterhoek (Dutch region). They found space in Doetinchem, on the site where the head office is still located.

Introduction of new storage system

The Beamtype Miniload system is introduced. Until today, this is a highly successful and widely sold racking system.

Stock market exchange entry

Hans Stegweg and Ruud Hollander reobtain a majority interest in NEDCON, after is has been part of the Lundex Group for a while. Because of this development, the company entered the stock market in May 1990. It appears to be very successful. The personnel closely followed the stock price by a so called stock market thermometer. Of course, this was made of own materials.

Opening a new factory

The economic development in Central Europe shifted a gear and NEDCON saw its chance to enter new markets here. Stegweg and Hollander decided to build a factory in the Czech town of Pardubice, a hundred kilometers from Prague. It opened its doors in 1996. Now all of NEDCON's production is carried out here.

Part of voestalpine

Since 2004 NEDCON has been part of voestalpine. This large industrial concern from Austria is involved in steel production, automotive industries and railway systems, among other things. Within this exceptionally stable environment, NEDCON has a high degree of freedom. As well as every opportunity to innovate and professionalize.

Developments for new shuttle system

Because shuttles see the light of day, NEDCON decides to develop  a new racking concept in order to keep growing.

New robotic line active

With the arrival of the new robotic line in the factory in Pardubice, NEDCON is assured of a huge improvement in technology and ergonomics. The production process of the components is much more flexible and these robots can carry out the work with higher risks. These new robots weld the standard beams. We use this for the construction of our pallet racks.

50 years of NEDCON

For half a century, NEDCON has taken a solid position in the steel industry and develops the iconic products in the way everybody recognizes them today. Always of exceptional quality, reliable and applicable to any storage issue. Customers from all over the world know their way to NEDCON and this world is always changing. Robotization and automation require continuous development and this is what we do. Always with you, the customer, in mind.

New profiling line operational

In the last quarter of 2020, a new profiling line was put into operation at the production site in Pardubice (Czech Republic). This new line is in line with our concept of "dedicated production lines" that are specialized for product families. The big difference with the old line is that it allows us to change product dimensions without physically rebuilding the line. This means a very fast changeover among different products. This, in combination with a higher production speed, leads to higher production efficiency and capacity.

In het laatste kwartaal van 2020 is op de productielocatie een nieuwe profileerlijn in gebruik genomen. Deze nieuwe lijn past...
