About NEDCON
NEDCON designs, produces, tests and builds warehouse racks. Since 2004, NEDCON has been an independent part of the international steel group voestalpine. The NEDCON head office is located in Doetinchem. In addition, we have our own production location in Pardubice (Czech Republic), in Shelbyville (USA) and there are NEDCON branches in various European countries, including Italy.

The assignment
NEDCON is actively exploring how Artificial Intelligence can support its business and engineering processes. With tools like Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, SAP BTP AI Core, and integrations with systems like Salesforce and Windchill, there’s a vast landscape of potential applications.

In this working student project, you will identify, evaluate, and implement real AI use cases, helping different departments understand which tools fit their needs and how to get started.

This project is ideal for students who enjoy working hands-on with technology, collaborating with stakeholders, and bringing innovation to life.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor or Master students in the field of ICT, AI, Computer Science, or (Technical) Business Administration.
  • Interested in applied AI, process improvement, and user empowerment.
  • Team players who enjoy variety and collaboration with professionals across departments.
  • Technical know-how (e.g., Power Platform, Python, or SAP) is a plus but not required.

What does the assignment look like?

  • Talk to business users and engineers to find out where AI can make a real difference in their daily work.
  • Collect and document the challenges they face and where opportunities for improvement lie.
  • Create a practical decision guide that helps teams choose the right AI tool for each situation (whether it’s Power Platform, SAP BTP, Copilot Studio, or a third-party solution).
  • Help departments set up their first AI workflows or prototypes.
  • Work with them to turn their ideas and requirements into simple, no-code or low-code solutions.
  • Assist in writing clear documentation, preparing training materials, and supporting new users as they get started.
  • Stay up to date with new capabilities (e.g., AI in Microsoft 365, Dynamics, SAP).
  • Investigate specific applications such as automated document summaries, chatbots, data analysis, and predictive analytics, and see how they could benefit NEDCON.
