Product Manager

In the position of Product Manager at our headquarters in Doetinchem you are on a daily basis involved with the (re)design and optimization of our standard product range and its implementation in the market. You are aware of the latest developments in our industry and you are jointly responsible for implementing the policy related to the product portfolio and pricing. You will work in the Product Management & Development department which is part of the central unit Products & Technology. This is a team consisting of 20+ colleagues who are engaged in managing the product groups and software applications for our systems. The Product Management & Development department manages a diversity of R&D projects for the various racking systems and the associated work processes.

What does the job entail?

As Product Manager you work within one or more product groups and you ensure the translation of the strategic policy into product solutions for our customers. You initiate and coordinate the product development process with regard to an adjustment and/or expansion of our product range.

Other core tasks of you are:

  • Managing (temporary) project teams for product development projects.
  • Drawing up a project plan with the (internal) client to define the product requirements and approach.
  • Aligning the product-specific design rules with the Design Principles department (responsible for enforcing applicable standards and regulations).
  • Supervise and execute the content of the product development project.
  • Advising and assisting the commercial business units with the introduction of newly developed products.
  • Providing periodic progress reports and presentations.
  • Attuning the manufacturability of the product together with the team that is responsible for the production, purchase and delivery of our products.

Who are we looking for?

You are analytical, creative and commercially minded. Planning and organizing is your second nature. You think outside the box and set high standards for product quality.

In addition you have:

  • Completed an education in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Product Design or Technical Management.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in product development, possibly supplemented with work in the field of marketing.
  • Experience in designing, supervising and managing (large-scale) product-related change processes.
  • Good communication skills in the Dutch and English language (German is an advantage).
  • Experience with 3D design software (preferably Creo / Windchill).
