Application Manager SAP

In the position of Application Manager SAP you are responsible for the maintenance, design and implementation of new functionalities and applications in our ERP system SAP. You execute the policy with regard to the system and you advise on possible improvements. You are the point of contact for the key users and inform them about updates and modifications, supporting them with training and other activities.

You will be working in the Applications & Processes department, which is part of the Products & Technology unit. This unit consists of 20+ colleagues, who are engaged in managing the product groups for our solutions and developing software applications to support the sales, engineering and production processes.

What does your work entail?

As a (functional) Application Manager SAP you ensure the proper functioning of our SAP system based on the applicable business processes. You also work closely with the other Application Managers, each with their own focus area. Your focus will primarily (but not exclusively) be on the modules SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP LE-TRA & SAP-PS. We work together with a network of specialized SAP consultancy partners in the development of the SAP system. You will also take care of data integrity and consistency together with the key-users & the process owners.

Other core tasks of yours are:

  • Establish and implement policies related to the SAP system.
  • Adjust system settings according to the defined business processes.
  • Performing second line support for queries, incidents and problems.
  • Organize and execute testing in case of new releases and modifications of the system software.
  • Being the contact person in contacting external consultants and developers.
  • Creating and managing user manuals and technical documentation.

You will also make a significant contribution in the conversion of the current SAP environment to the new SAP S/4HANA solution. This conversion project is planned for the coming years.

Who are we looking for?

You are customer and service oriented, accurate and good at making analyses. This is the basis on which you implement the improvements you foresee in the SAP system. You have didactic skills (or are willing to develop them further) so that you can develop and provide training to colleagues. Furthermore, you are able to communicate at all levels within the organization.

In addition you have:

  • A minimum of hbo thinking and working level.
  • A completed college or university education, preferably (technical) business administration and / or IT.
  • Several years of experience with SAP ECC 6.0; experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of testing techniques, documenting systems & processes and writing user manuals.
  • Knowledge of business processes in a project-based environment.
  • Qualities related to project-based work.
  • A good knowledge of the English language in word and writing, German is a plus.
