Application Engineer 3D CAD Tooling

As Application Engineer 3D CAD Tooling, you are responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of the NEDCON specific 3D CAD engineering applications. You will work in a varied and experienced team in our Product Data & Application Management (PDAM) department, which consists of seven Product and Application Managers. In this position you are also in daily contact with colleagues from various departments within our organization. What does the job entail?

The PDAM department provides central management and maintenance of the product data and software applications. We provide organizational control by means of up-to-date information, document management and optimal possibilities for collaboration and knowledge sharing. In addition to daily contact with your manager Appy Wolbrink and direct colleagues (Application Managers SAP & PCA), you also have regular contact with colleagues from the ICT, Sales, Engineering, Production and Purchasing departments. In addition, in this position you are partly responsible for determining the department policy.

Your core duties include:

  • Coordinate, implement, expand and maintain the NEDCON standard products in the 3D engineering systems (3D CAD, PDM / PLM);
  • Coordinating the design and development of the configuration user interfaces, tools and templates, working method and authorization structure;
  • Taking the initiative and guiding further integration of engineering tooling with Sales Engineering, Structural Engineering and Production Engineering tooling;
  • Training, supporting and advising key users on the use of standard products in the engineering systems;
  • Ensuring that the design of the engineering systems continues to match the working methods.

In this position you will initially work in the project team for the implementation of 3D CAD & PDM / PLM software. Once this implementation has been completed, the further management of these applications is your responsibility.

Who are we looking for?

As a suitable candidate you can analyze well and you work accurately. You only want to deliver quality and work result-oriented.

In addition, you have:

  • Completed a higher professional education in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and/ or Automation
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (preferably Creo, Tekla, Solid Works, AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of PDM / PLM systems and MS Office
  • Knowledge of configure-to-order business processes
  • Affinity with automation & application development
  • Experience with SAP (is an advantage) and programming languages (preferably C # & SQL)
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
