Last Tuesday, May 15, a group of students from various Innovation hubs visited NEDCON. An Innovation Hub usually consists of 3 to 5 companies, where students have the opportunity to do a challenging internship or graduation assignment.
The students were welcomed with open arms at the NEDCON Innovation Centre. Here the visit began with a short introduction between the participants. At this moment all participants study at different companies and at different courses. After the introduction the word was given to Jan Tragter (Manager Resellers and Manager Key Accounts Standard). He took the students along in history, from the establishment of NEDCON to the construction of the NEDCON Innovation Centre. In addition to the rich NEDCON history, an explanation was given about the various activities and departments within NEDCON. From engineering to assembly and from project management to product development. The students were then given a tour of the NEDCON Innovation Centre, the place where all products are built.
The visit was concluded with a tour of Diederik Margadant (Senior Structural Engineer Design Principles) by the NEDCON Test Department. Product-System development does NEDCON in-house. In the Test Department, the participants were able to see which tests NEDCON performs and explained why this is important. A number of technical students were very interested in the operation of the different test machines. The students learned a lot during the visit.
