An internship at NEDCON means gaining unique experiences in an international environment. Not only does it offer many students the opportunity to focus on products for the global market, but also internally it offers opportunities for cross-border cooperation. As an example, Andrea, HR Trainee at NEDCON Pardubice and Merle, Marketing & Communication Trainee at NEDCON Doetinchem, helped each other in their internships last year.
Collaboration offers opportunities
As trainees at the two different locations, Andrea and Merle soon found each other. Since Merle's research focused on getting a picture of the entire organization, she quickly came into contact with Andrea in the Czech Republic. She was able to assist her in plotting the demand within her location. In addition, their collaboration turned out to be a nice way to teach each other things about the company and to help each other in their activities. For example, Merle conducted interviews with Czech colleagues for her graduation internship. “Thanks to Andrea's help, I could get in touch with colleagues in Pardubice in an easily accessible way”, she says.
For one of her tasks, Andrea needed information for her colleagues in Pardubice who wanted to come to Doetinchem. “I did not know where I could find the information, but thanks to Merle I had several resources available”, Andrea tells.
Differences between Dutch and Czech internships
Merle explains: “The nice thing about the contact with Andrea was that we worked from the same position in the company.” In a video call, together with Czech trainees Karolína and Mykhailo, the students also discovered the differences between a traineeship in the Netherlands and in the Czech Republic. Merle: “Whereas an internship in the Netherlands often takes several months, in the Czech Republic it is also possible to stay in the company for multiple years, depending on the kind of internship.” Another difference is that trainees in the Czech Republic do not only work on their departments and their own tasks, the students within the company also work together on certain projects. ''For example we organize (work related and non-working) events together”, Andrea says.
In addition to the help the students could offer each other, the international aspect also added, according to them, extra depth to their internships. Are you also looking for an internship with an international working environment? View our internships on the internship and graduation page.
