At NEDCON, technological innovation is at the heart of what we do. Right now, we are transitioning from 2D drafting to 3D using CREO-Windchill. This is a significant leap forward in the development of our technology, but what truly sets it apart is that the transformation is fully driven by our own people. We are learning together, making this investment not just valuable for our processes, but also for the personal and professional growth of our colleagues.
The power of 3D technology
The transition to 3D technology represents a major step forward for NEDCON in designing and executing our projects. By replacing traditional 2D drafting methods with advanced three-dimensional design tools, we are able to work with greater precision, visualize complex projects better, and collaborate more efficiently within the company. This is crucial in a market where quality and customization are key.
Learning and growing together
The collective effort of our colleagues in this shift of technology is something to be proud of. More than 130 colleagues are participating in this journey. Through a combination of e-learning and in-person lessons, we are not only mastering the new method, but also strengthening team and departmental engagement.
To make the combination of training and work manageable, the project initiators analyzed which skills are needed for each role within NEDCON to integrate 3D technology into daily tasks. 3D Program Manager Rens explains: “We use a matrix, where the different roles within NEDCON are assessed for their 3D-related competencies. For example, a Project Manager has very different needs than an Engineer. Based on this, colleagues are invited to join the training.”
Because the training is customized, it’s an efficient and seamless process that every participant can benefit from. With interactive modules and practical lessons designed, colleagues can immediately apply the new methods.
An improvement for our processes and people
At NEDCON, we view technological innovation to elevate both our people and processes. This specific transition not only improves our workflows but also fosters personal and professional growth. Colleagues are learning from and with each other, strengthening collaboration and increasing engagement.
The feedback from participating colleagues has been positive, says Application Engineer and instructor Thijs: “Especially because the course material can be reviewed later through the e-learning sessions. People now really see the value of working with 3D.”
Smart and safe storage systems
With the introduction of 3D, we are stronger than ever in designing innovative solutions for our clients. This technology gives us greater insight into complex projects and enables us to deliver smart and safe storage systems.
The transition to 3D is more than just a technical advancement; it reflects NEDCON’s core values: innovation, commitment, and personal growth. Together, we are building a future where technology and teamwork go hand in hand.
